It becomes increasingly clear that the pledge process is monopolizing his time... and that there isn't really much room for Tobey in the picture. Jack's frat brothers convince Jack that Tobey's being unreasonable. Jack tries to explain his position to Tobey, but Tobey's even more hurt that Jack discussed their relationship with the frat boys. Tobey tells Jack that Jack was his first priority, and he knows Jack can't say the same for Tobey. Jen lets Jack have it when he arrives home, excited to be an official Sigma Ep brother. She admits she doesn't even know who he is anymore, since he got involved with the frat. Jack is defensive and tells Jen he and Tobey have grown apart, and implies that he and Jen are doing the same.
507 High Anxiety
Hoping to cheer up an angst-ridden Dawson, Jack invites him to spend some time over at the frat house. With the brothers, Jack encourages Dawson to leave his worries behind for an evening of carefree fun. A few drinks later, Jack and the guys bring Dawson over to Pacey's yacht. Pacey chastises Jack for having encouraged Dawson to use alcohol to avoid his problems, but Jack defends himself, saying the guy needed a break. Pacey's disappointed with Jack's attitude.

Later, he stops by Joey's dorm to make amends with the girls. He apologizes to Audrey and Joey ultimately forgives him.
